The Curious Subject was momentarily halted mid-verb, quite literally, when struck by a most curious thought. A tantalizingly foolish, imploringly inquisitive thought. Could it be possible to anticipate the familiar and illustrious 'can of worms' moment?
What would occur hypothetically of course, if the Couch-Dweller overcame being an utter coward and opened a can of worms voluntarily? No worms are likely to appear, although what if the variable of variables burst into speech? Suspending predictable reality for a moment, what if the Doctor were presented with a variable so foreign to past sessions, so fantastical and mysterious: voluntary and open sharing.
The idea is quite enough to make the Curious Subject chuckle with a crust of panic edging humor. What shade should the 'can of worms' have? Absurdity seems unable to grow past the initial context. Pretending? More. Specific pretending? More. Gluttony is often confused with overestimating? Or was it confused with thrill seeking?
