The following is a tentative (incomplete) result of informal experiments conducted in a most unorganized and unpredictable manner. The majority of the observations were based upon packs consisting of 4 two-leggers or less performing the socially obligatory routines induced by proximity. Just as would be expected of them in a larger pack, the dynamic was prompt and safely bland, yet the manner in which this was conducted bore many stark differences.
A great mystery (of another nature) is related to the cues, signals, expectations, and motivation which create the smaller packs in the first place. None of these aspects/signals have been witnessed prior to the splitting from a larger mass, nor is it believed that the creation if them resulted from previous communications. Visually, it is not unlike a shoal of fish evading a predator; they appear to mimic each other and thus eliminate evidence of any alpha individual.
Note: perhaps the shoal parallel is unhelpful due to the obvious logic motivating the fish. Upon a perceived or genuine threat, each individual seeks to maximize their safety by locating themselves at the navel of the shoal. Thus a smooth and seamless rolling motion is seen, creating the impression of a single organism in motion, rather than a mass of organisms each attempting to preserve their physical safety and prolong their existence. Survival is a logical motivator, whereas the two-legger justification is elusive and subtle, and perhaps sound reasons for the behavior are non-existent.
Thus the mystery continues to perplex, and a fraud has be perpetrated. What followed the initial declaration of content was not at all the content intended to present. The regular scheduled programming may now resume.
